Keep Your Church Community Connected And Safe During The COVID-19 Pandemic With mobileAxept Text-To-Give & Text Notifications

COVID-19 has changed the way we interact with each other on a daily, weekly, and soon to be monthly-basis. We’re truly saddened for the ways that this has altered church interactions and forced communities to isolate themselves from each other.

For this reason, among others, we wanted to keep churches informed about how mobileAxepts solutions can keep church communities connected during this pandemic.

Solutions for Online Service and Online Church

At mobileAxept, we offer multiple tools for online community engagement. GiveNow is our text-to-give solution that allows members to give directly from their cell phones. ReachNow is our text notification and text messaging application that church administrators can use to reach their congregations. Here is a list of great ways to use text messaging to help encourage and engage your community all the time:

  • Send an update to your community about what’s going on with service times and schedules.

Not many churches have chosen to continue meeting regularly. By keeping your community in the loop with what your church leadership decides, you’ll help to keep your congregation informed.

  • Send out daily Bible verses and devotions.

Sometimes it can be difficult to know what to say, especially in times like these. Instead of trying to come up with something, lean on the Bible or devotional plans from the Youversion Bible App.

  • Create a video update or short testimony.

We know we’re not supposed to be meeting in larger groups, and that can make it difficult for people to feel like they’re a part of something greater. Find a congregation member or pastor with a testimony of healing or financial provision from God and create a short video testimony that you can send out via text message.

  • Send out prayer requests.

The current pandemic has caused people throughout the world to be in extra need of prayer, but all too often, the news and negativity are swallowing up those requests. Reach people directly and immediately by sending out prayer requests via text messaging.

  • Provide resources for those that need help during the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Some churches and nonprofits have chosen to offer bagged lunches and meals for those in need who are experiencing loss. As a church, you may not have the resources to offer such services, but you can help by making your community aware of the places that do offer such services.

Find Ways for Members to Continue Giving

While churches aren’t meeting in person, there are still ways by which they can give. Online and text-based giving platforms, like GiveNow, are some of the best ways to offer digital giving. If you choose to use mobileAxept for these services, you’ll be able to set up individual funds that members can give to.

You might consider creating a COVID-19 relief fund. Your community may not have been hit by sickness, but it’s likely that it has been hit by the economic impacts of businesses and schools closing. Your church can help be part of the solution by giving back to the community and local food shelves.

Some areas of the country are also calling for volunteers. Don’t be afraid to reach out if you live in any of these places. We’re called to be the hands and feet of Christ. Even when, in times like these, we can feel scared or nervous. God has called us to be people of faith and to give faithfully.

The Responsibility or Church Leadership

Churches tend to feel particularly responsible for the well being of their communities within these times. Rightly so. Pastors need to be able to support their communities and stay in communication with them throughout this crisis.

If the church will band together in prayer and support of each other, we’re sure to come out of this crisis stronger.

Realizing a need for reentry services in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, Bishop T.D. Jakes founded the Texas Offenders Reentry Initiative (T.O.R.I.) program in 2005. Since inception, T.O.R.I. has provided service to over 23,000 returning citizens in the areas of employment, education, healthcare, housing, spiritual guidance and family reunification. Involvement in the T.O.R.I. program ensures increased opportunity, housing security, expanded educational opportunities, financial literacy and creates a heightened quality of life for each participant willing to complete the program. T.O.R.I. clients proudly state “I am more.”
  • Our church staff has worked with various different companies through the years but we experienced a higher level of care and responsiveness with mobileAxept than we have with others. As we rolled out our program to our members, mobileAxept gave us templates and tools that made the marketing team’s job very easy.
  • The Text-to-Give program is convenient, secure and accurate! I can give at any time, not just when I’m at church, and it makes it easy to keep up with my donations. mobileAxept also offers the ultimate in customer service - super friendly and helpful with excellent results!
